If you have a great idea for a themed vid show, now's your chance! We're taking submissions for attendee-curated (VJed) vid shows. Submissions will close on Sunday, March 26, 2023 and we'll notify you if your show was accepted and provide information on how to submit your shows soon after.
Sunday, April 23, 2023: Draft vid show playlists due
Sunday, May 14, 2023: Vid shows finalized in Conline (our con platform)
All deadlines are midnight, Eastern Daylight Time (what time is that for me?).
Any theme is welcome! Past themes include Catharsis, A Vid Show (But Make it Trans/Nonbinary), Vidshow of Joy, and Two Great Tastes: Fanvid cross-pollination. If you need more ideas, you can check out past shows at VidUKon, Fanworks, and Vividcon.
Can I VJ with someone else?
Yes, you can VJ by yourself or with one or more other people.
How long should the show be?
Your show should be between 40 and 55 minutes.
Other than curating the show, what's involved in being a VJ?
You'll also need to notify vidders that you're planning to show their vids, screen vids for applicable content notes per our policy, and enter the vids into Conline (don't worry, we'll provide instructions!). You don't need to press play or even be available while your show is scheduled to play, though we will try to schedule it when you're free.
I've never been a VJ before and don't know where to start.
No problem! Just contact us at vids@contxt.club and we'll help you get started.
