If you haven't voted on panels for CON.TXT 2023 yet, you have under four hours to do so! Panel voting closes at midnight EDT tonight, April 17 (what time is that for me?).

We need your input what the panels you'd like to see and which Open panels—panels in need of mods—you would like to volunteer to moderate.

We have a lot of Open panels this year, and a lot of chances to get involved! You don’t need to have modded a panel before—we’ll have guidance and resources for new mods. You can rank up to five of your top choices of panels to moderate. (Don’t worry—we won’t assign you to more than three panels!)

If you suggested or volunteered to mod a panel in the panel proposal post and see it listed in the poll as an Open panel, please select it as one of your mod choices in the poll if you are still interested!

If you suggested a panel and made arrangements in the panel proposal post to co-mod it with another person, you will still see it listed as an Open panel unless you specifically edited or commented on your post to mark it as Closed. We will contact you to find out if you still need additional co-mods before we assign any more people.

We strive to offer a well-balanced and wide range of panel topics. The voting tells us which panels are the most popular, but it also helps us choose among similar panels and decide which suggestions might be better combined. We don't use a strict numbers cut-off to determine our programming.

We're looking forward to seeing you all (virtually) at CON.TXT 2023! Vote now for your preferred panels.

Reminders

Premieres and Nearly New vid submissions are open through Sunday, May 14
Regular registration pricing is open through May 26, 2023
Apply for a scholarship by emailing registration@contxt.club by Friday, June 16th, 2023

We are now taking panel suggestions for CON.TXT 2023! Please read this post and comment with your suggestions using the template below.

All attendees and those considering attending are welcome to suggest panels, regardless of whether or not you want to moderate them.

You may submit a panel suggestion as an open or closed panel.

More on panel suggestions )

Save your vid show suggestions—we'll take them in an upcoming post!

Panel suggestions will remain open through March 6, 2023.

To propose a panel for CON.TXT 2023, please comment on this post with the following information:

Title: A Short Yet Interesting Title
Mod(s): The badge name(s) of interested moderator(s)—please list your own badge name if you would like to moderate
Open or Closed: Use “Open” if you would like the panels committee to assign mods to this panel. Use “Closed” if the co-mods named are prepared to mod the panel on their own.
Category: Meta, Multi-fandom, Single Fandom, Activity, How-to
Description: This is a longer description of the panel, which will be included in the con program. This should be as specific as you can be in a paragraph!
Other notes: These notes will not be part of the final listing for the panel and will not appear in the con program, but can include things like technology requirements or general thoughts on panel content which you'd like to flesh out in further comments.

Most full-length panels are 50 minutes long but we have had panels run for a longer duration, so please note if you think your panel suggestion needs more time.

To propose a change or expansion to an already-suggested panel or to volunteer as an additional moderator for one, please reply to the suggestion and not to the main post so that each panel's discussion is threaded. Note that if two suggestions seem very similar we may merge them into one, so check what's already been proposed before suggesting a new panel. If a similar idea exists, comment to ask if the original suggester wants to work with your ideas.
