The CON.TXT 2012 Schedule is live! Go, see what we're offering, and start planning!

~!@#@!~

Our Cosplay theme this year is COMICS! On Friday, come dressed as your favorite character from comic books, comic strips, webcomics or comic book themed movies.... We already know more than a few of you like to cosplay, and that a fair number of you like comics, so get creative, and let us see those costumes!

(Yes, this is a fairly broad category, but we feel like it gives people more room to play and express themselves -- we're looking forward to seeing everyone all dressed up!)

We’ve taken a first pass through our panel poll and we found a few panels which everyone seems to want to attend but which no one has yet volunteered to lead! Please let us know at panels@con-txt.net if you might be interested in moderating any of the following panels:

* Bringing Diversity to Fanfiction Through Minor Characters
* Fandom and the Law
* Hot Girl-on-Girl Action
* Old Fandoms Never Die

Please also let us know if you find this the perfect summation of our con. :)

We’re also looking for a co-moderator for the following panel:

* Gender and Sexuality Across Cultures (with Dee Laundry)

As a reminder, the panel poll will stay open through May 5th! There are about 15 more panel slots where the votes are not yet decisive, so vote if you haven’t yet!

(If you’re signed up to moderate already, please keep an eye on your email address(es) for information from us!)

As announced on Sunday, the voting for panels at CON.TXT is now open! As discovered Monday morning, the survey site which we use was experiencing registrar trouble and some people were unable to submit their votes. If you voted for panels and did not see a message thanking you for voting, your votes were not actually recorded! If that happened to you, we're awfully sorry; please vote again! The domain should be fully resolved for everyone now, so once more with feeling:

Vote for panels now!

The poll will stay up until May 5th, but we will still begin the process of selecting popular panels and arranging moderators this weekend. We know it's a short voting period, but we really want to get our (terrifically exciting!) schedule up in time for all of our volunteers to schedule their hours around their favorite panels. A whole bunch of you have voted already, and that's awesome -- thank you!

Interested in being a moderator? You can put your name down at the end of the poll or contact panels@con-txt.net.

The 2012 CON.TXT Panel Poll is up! If you're coming to the con, please vote for panels now and drum up support for your favorites among your fellow con-goers. Please VOTE EARLY and often exactly once! The poll will stay up until May 5th, but we will begin contacting moderators and confirming the most popular panels ONE WEEK FROM NOW, on April 28th!

Interested in being a moderator? You can put your name down at the end of the poll or contact panels@con-txt.net. You'll see the badge names of people who've already volunteered on the poll -- some of them many times, as some hearty mods have volunteered a lot knowing that some of their panels might not make it through the voting. (Thank you for your excellent enthusiasm!) Don't hesitate to join them if you're ready!

Edited 4/23 to update: In a fit of truly bad timing, our survey website, SurveyGizmo, experienced a registrar failure this weekend and is not correctly recording surveys from some ISPs, including parts of Comcast. If you click on the submit button and see anything in the CON.TXT frame other than a message thanking you for taking the survey, it was not correctly recorded. SurveyGizmo expects the domain to be fully resolved by Tuesday, but we apologize for the trouble!

A quick reminder: we're still looking for panel suggestions and roundtable topics in every category -- from meta to how-tos, from single-fandom topics to ones that apply across multiple fandoms -- as long as they're related to slash and/or slash fandom, we want them. We've had some great suggestions already, and there's room for more, but you only have until April 12th to make suggestions.

For more details, see this post.

A quick reminder for everyone to suggest roundtable discussion topics. Please note you only have until April 12th. We're looking for every category -- from meta to how-tos, from single-fandom topics to ones that apply across multiple fandoms -- as long as they're related to slash and/or slash fandom, we want them. We've had some great suggestions already, and there's room for more!

To make a suggestion, go to the Member Login page, log in, and then go to Programming and click on "Panel Suggestions". To suggest a panel, just hit the button which says "suggest a panel", fill in the boxes, and hit submit. You can suggest as many panels as you like!

To volunteer to moderate a panel which has already been suggested, go to the Member Login page, log in, and then go to Programming and click on "Panel Suggestions" and click the volunteer button. Panels which already have moderators are more likely to be on the final schedule, so put your name in early if you can!

Once all of the suggestions are sorted, you'll be able to vote on the panels you'd like to see at the con. Volunteers to moderate should expect to hear from us starting the last week in April; if you won't be available by email in the first week or two of May, please let us know!

Remember -- you have to be logged in to make suggestions and volunteer to moderate; everyone can see what's been proposed, whether logged in or not.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email us, or to comment here, or on the mailing list.

This is the part where *you* tell *us* what you'd like to see happen at CON.TXT -- that's right, it's time for PANEL SUGGESTIONS!

Starting today, and through April 12th, we're asking all CON.TXT members to start making suggestions for roundtable discussion topics. We're looking for discussion subjects in every category -- from meta to how-tos, from single-fandom topics to ones that apply across multiple fandoms -- as long as they're related to slash and/or slash fandom, we want you to suggest them.

Just go to the Member Login page, log in, and then go to Programming and click on "Panel Suggestions." Once you've filled in the boxes, just click submit.

Once people start clicking "submit", you'll be able to see what has been suggested. This year, if you see something right up your alley (so to speak), you'll be able to put your name down as a potential moderator right away! Just log in and click on the moderator volunteer button below the panel.

That list of suggestions can be sorted by date, category, topic, or number of moderators volunteering so far, and you can see all of the suggestions or just the ones you've proposed or offered to moderate. We'll be using this information to select panel topics, to find moderators, and to gauge which topics and fandoms are garnering the most interest.

Remember -- you have to be logged in to make suggestions, sort your own suggestions, and volunteer to moderate; everyone can see what's been proposed, whether they're logged in or not.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email us, or to comment here, or on the mailing list.
