Are you coming to CON.TXT 2018? Are you as excited as we are? We are hard at work planning the best con we can for you, but we also wanted to give the CON.TXT community a place to check-in, say hi, and start talking about the con. So we're opening this post for you.

If you are coming to CON.TXT, please comment on this post and say hi. Be sure to mention your badge name so people can find you at the con, but also tell us what your current fannish obsessions are, and what you're looking most forward to at CON.TXT. Thinking about having a room party or want to plan a group dinner for people in a particular fandom?  Have a proposal for a DIY panel and want to gauge interest in it? Are you new to CON.TXT or the DC area this year and want to ask some questions? Are you a CON.TXT veteran and want to offer some tips? This is the place to start that conversation!

It has been a rough summer so far and there is a lot of serious and not-fun stuff going on in the world right now. So think of this post as a place where you can take a tiny break from all that and get hyped for CON.TXT, like a pre-con cocktail party. Come share the joy of fandom with us!

I'll get things started! Hey everyone, I'm Trixie and I've managed to make it to every CON.TXT, and this is my second year on the concom. People from older fandoms may know me as CL Finn. I'm a little bit all over the place these days fannishly, dipping my toes into lots of things. But my main current fandom is podsa fandom, which is a RPF around the Pod Save America bros. It's small and has the benefit of merging my real world obsessions with fandom, but I haven't decided if that's a good thing or not.

If anyone wants to get together and talk about the Obama bros or find out about them, Arallara and I are thinking about doing a DIY panel or maybe a Lovett or Leave It listening party at some point. Let me know if you're interested!

Hello! I'm Cinco, also known as cincodemaygirl. I've been to every CON.TXT since 2012 and was on the concom for 2014 and 2016. I also mod DMV Fan Brunch, which will hold its first brunch this August!

I'm reading in lots of fandoms right now, including Deadpool/Spiderman, Avengers, Harry Potter, Teen Wolf, PODSA, and Daredevil, and would be delighted to talk about any/all of those fandoms and a lot more. Oh, and I just started watching Yuri on Ice (because obviously I needed a 15th fandom!).

At the con you can find me modding the Singalong Vid Show, the Buffy the Musical Singalong, and assisting v_greyson with the Luxury Queer Space Communism panel. Hello!! I am Debbie, badge name Starfish, I've been to all the con.txts so far. I am still deep in the Marvel/MCU fandom and will read a WIDE variety of pairings but draw the line at Loki. (Bastard fucked with my boy Clint; I do not forgive that.) Also happy to talk about other fandoms or just listen to you squee.

Mainly looking forward to seeing all my distant friends and THE SINGALONGS oh yes, the singalongs.

I'm Dusk Peterson. I had to miss the last two Con.txts, but I think I made it to all the rest. I'm really looking forward to talking with fanfolk again!

I've always been into originalfic, and at the moment I'm also into literary fandoms and RPF that are set in the early 20th century. But I've had so little time for reading during the past year that I've mainly been watching vids - any fandom is fine.

I've been to every Con.txt and consider it, along with Escapade, one of my non-negotiable, can't-miss cons. Good people, good conversations, can't wait to see you all!

My main fandom is Pod Save America right now--see Trixie's explanation above. I would definitely be up for a lunch or other kind of hangout with fellow Friends of the Pod, or as Trixie suggested, maybe a Lovett or Leave It listening party. Reply to Trixie's comment if you're interested, so we can consolidate replies for easy planning!

I also still think of myself as "in" MCU fandom to some degree and watch the other Marvel products, as well. I still care about Star Wars, and I finally went back and watched the last season and a half of Teen Wolf, and I'm excited for the possibility of a Raven Cycle tv show. Oh, and I finally caught up on Sherlock if anyone wants to talk with me about how godawful and infuriating season 4 was!

Hi, all! C./Clay/coyotegestalt (they/them) here, looking forward to being back! I'm commuting to the con rather than staying in the hotel most of the time, so you may see me dashing in and out a lot.

I'm floating between major fandoms right now, dabbling in a lot of different things.
I was wondering, though, is anybody else following Shield of Tomorrow? Its series finale will be this month, so if anybody besides me has been watching perhaps we can find a corner to squee/emote

Hello! My first CON.TXT, but I've been in fandom for well over half my life, so I hope to fit in quickly :)

I'll be on the lookout for people into queer fantasy, slice-of-life anime, Star Trek (especially TOS or DS9), Tamora Pierce, and more! As for within fanfic, I'm into poly, kink, and, of course, coffee shop AUs. (Combine the three? Even better.) I live in the area so I will not be getting a room, but will try to spend as much time at the con as possible! I am also super into graphic novels/comics, especially indie ones, so hit me up to chat about that.

If you ever roleplayed on the Neopets chat boards, hit me up! I love talking about the old days in their cheesy fun glory! I feel like there is an overlap between the people who spent nights posting on these roleplay boards and fandom people, haha.

Hi all; I'm Dee Laundry, call me Dee. I just realized I've been coming to the con since 2010, when I co-modded the Procrastinators' Party panel, and did an Oz meetup (thank you to the one other Oz fan who showed up). Also one of the panels was named "Slash and the Dream of Actually Gay Characters"; it was a while ago.

Also, also there was a Leverage panel modded by Zvi in 2010, and she and I are co-modding the Leverage panel this year! Why? Because it's still awesome. I'm bringing DVDs of all the seasons if anyone wants to watch an ep.

Hi I'm Bella, badge name libraralien! This will be my first CON.TXT (though not my first con), and also my first time co-modding a panel (How to Find Things). I am excited to meet new people, experience Disco Duck, and for the vidshow, since I think vids are best when watched with lots of people.

I dabble in a lot of fandoms, but my main current fandom obsessions are Black Sails, the Aubrey-Maturin novels, and Lord of the Rings (which I only read/watched for the first time this year). Lately I have shifted my primary media consumption from TV to books, so if anybody has any book fandoms they want to sell me on, or just squee incoherently about, I am will happily listen!

Hello, everyone. I'm Hannah, badge name Hannah, also sometimes known as Cosmic Tuesdays, and I've been to every Con.Txt since 2010.
I'll be moderating The Good Place discussion panel this year so I'm tackling a rewatch at the moment.

I'm sort of between fandoms right now - I'm not writing anything, which is my main form of direct engagement - but fandoms I've been reading recently are Buffy, DS9, and Marvel from all sorts of angles, from comics to MCU to the X-Men movies and side properties. Though I admit it's mostly Buffy since I finally got around to watching that and it didn't take long for it to work its way deep into me in a way that's telling me it's not going anywhere for a long time.

I'm Ki or Obi-ki is my author name. I am heading back to CON.TXT after missing the con in 2016 due to family obligations. Star Wars has been and probably always will be my main fandom with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan being my OTP. I look forward to spending the weekend talking slash and fandom with everyone, meeting new friends and spending time with friends that I have gotten to know since finding fandom in 1998.
