We are really happy to be returning to the Residence Inn Arlington Pentagon City this summer.  Here are a few reasons why:

Service. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and took care of us really well in 2016.

Nosh. So much tasty!  There is a
complimentary full/hot American breakfast everyone staying in the hotel. If you're not staying in the hotel, you can buy a ticket for $10 (though enforcement of hotel guests seemed very lax before). Being in a Residence Inn, also means a killer combo of kitchens and groceries! Every room has a kitchen with a stove and a full-size fridge. AND - one block away is a signature Whole Foods Market, with:

  • A full-service grocery store with fresh produce, bakery, beer and wine, deli, and self-serve mochi (ice cream)
  • Hot bar and organic salad bar, plus made-to-order ramen, fresh sushi and artisan pizza
  • The Basin, an 82-seat barroom, featuring a seafood menu, local wine, beer, spirits and signature cocktails
  • Smoothie and coffee bar featuring draft kombucha and nitro cold brew
  • If Whole Foods is not your jam, there is also a Costco and a Harris Teeter just a few blocks away. This means you can eat hearty and healthy on a budget; you can invite folks to your room for a snack or meal or room party; the breakfast area has lots of tables available for shared lunches or dinners, too. Many restaurants in the area will deliver, too!

Transportation. The hotel has location, location, location. It's 0.3 miles from the Pentagon City Metro Station (a 6-minute walk).  It's two metro stops from Reagan National Airport (DCA), and two stops from downtown DC (just across the river). The hotel also offers a shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 1 mile radius, and it's complimentary to/from DCA Airport from 5 am to midnight. If you’re coming by car, the hotel is just off of Interstate 395

Shopping. A huge shopping/eating/services complex is at Pentagon City Metro Station, with the Fashion Centre (indoor) Mall and Pentagon Row (outdoor) Mall.

Amenities: Most importantly, there’s free wifi throughout the hotel. There's also a fitness center with cardio and free weights, and an indoor pool open from 10am-10pm on Saturday and Sunday, and from 5pm to 10pm on Friday. Pool panel, anyone?  And in every room, there is HD TV, free in-room coffee and tea service, kitchen and fridge, and a nice sitting area so no one has to sit on your bed. It's kind of the perfect con hotel :)

Reservations:  We have a special CON.TXT rate, and it is guaranteed only until the beginning of July-- $139 (plus tax) for a king studio; $159 (plus tax) for a queen/queen studio or a two-bedroom suite. (All rooms have a sofabed in addition to the specified beds.) Reserve early to ensure you get the type of room you want! There are two handy ways to book your hotel room.
  • Call 800-331-3131 and reference the CON.TXT Women in Media Event at the Residence Inn Pentagon City to make a reservations at the group rate.
  • To book online, click on this direct link: CON.TXT Women in Media Event.
Note: If you book online and attempt to make your reservation to check in prior to 7/26/18 or stay beyond 7/30/18, the system will respond that there are no rooms available. Also, if you are booking a room for two or more people, you will need to call the hotel after booking the room to add the additional names to the registration. (If you are planning to check in together, you are not required to add the names ahead of time; this is mostly useful for people who will be checking in separately.)

How do we get the shuttle from DCA to the hotel? Call the hotel directly?
