I don't have any sports fandom history to speak of, but I have experience being in other RPF fandoms where there were awful things turning up in RL news (...and I mostly left active RPF fandoms as a result of that happening several times in a row, and deciding it wasn't worth the risk.) So if you'd be interested in expanding outside sports RPF and want that perspective, I'd be in.
