Also not a room party, but there's a Cursed Child/Harry Potter-themed release party on Saturday night from 8-midnight at the Barnes & Noble at the end of the blue line (Franconia-Springfield Metro). My local Harry Potter group is helping organize/host some of the activities and games at the event (including one that's always a hit with our group members: Potter Charades). It's been so long since the last HP book release party--who knows if we'll ever get another!
If you'd like to attend and want a ride from Metro to the bookstore and back, let me know. There's a cheap shuttle that goes from Metro to mall and back, but I don't know how late it runs. It's walkable, but you'd be doing it in the dark and I want you all to be SAFE, so I wouldn't recommend walking. Email me at katemmcdevitt@gmail.com if you're in need of a ride.
