CON.TXT 2020 Vid Show: Submit What You'd Like to See and Make

Hi everyone! Your friendly vidshow committee - alpheratz, cinco, and corbae - is looking for suggestions for CON.TXT's 2020 vidshow! Tell us about the vids you love in new and old fandoms, and definitely tell us if you're thinking about submitting a premiere to the show!

As you know, CON.TXT 2020 will be held online on July 25. The virtual con will include a streaming vid show.

VID SUBMISSIONS

To nominate a vid for inclusion in the show, head on over to our submissions form. Please don't be shy: self-nominate as much as you like!

To give us time to curate and assemble the final show, the deadline for vid suggestions is July 5, 2020.

If you're thinking of submitting a premiere, please fill out the premiere interest form. Preliminary drafts of premieres are due July 5th. Final drafts are due July 11th.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

If you are submitting your own vid, please upload it to Youtube or Vimeo without password protection in place. If possible, please also upload subtitles.

What is required of a preliminary vid draft, and how are they to be submitted? (My plan is to be finished by the 5th, but you know, stuff happens.)

Hi! Thanks for asking. For the preliminary draft, we would like you to submit a vid with at least an 80% completed timeline and a beginning, middle, and end.
Basically we would like to see that the vid is completable by deadline and to get a sense of the tone so we can start working on the playlist.

(As an aside, while the final draft should be a complete vid, we can work with you if you want to make little tweaks before the con.)

And you can just upload it to Google drive, Dropbox, or even as an unlisted vid on YouTube or Vimeo - whatever works for you.

Hello - newbie with a few questions!

1. I registered for the virtual 2020 con last week, via the Google Form - Should I have gotten any sort of confirmation email or should I expect one still? (this may actually be a question for some other part of the CON.TXT team, idk)

2. I submitted interest in premiering a vid during the virtual 2020 via the Google Form - Should I have gotten any sort of confirmation email or should I expect one still?

3. My premiere video will be finished shortly. How/Where do I submit the YouTube link for the July 5/July deadlines?

1. Not yet! We'll send a confirmation and instructions for the next step soon.

2. Great! We'll manually confirm very soon to remind you of the July 5 preliminary deadline.

I have no idea why that address would have bounced as we're receiving other emails there, but please feel free to email me personally at cincodemaygirl @ gmail and I'll forward to the rest of the committee. (Anyone reading this, that goes for any CON.TXT related email you need to send if you have trouble with our con-txt.net emails.)
